Read the excerpt from act 2, scene 1, of the tragedy of julius caesar.

brutus. let 'em enter.

[exit lucius]

they are the faction. o conspiracy,
shamest thou to show thy dangerous brow by night,
when evils are most free? o then by day
where wilt thou find a cavern dark enough
to mask thy monstrous visage? seek none, conspiracy.
hide it in smiles and affability;
for if thou path, thy native semblance on,
not erebus itself were dim enough
to hide thee from prevention.

[enter the conspirators: cassius, casca, decius brutus, cinna, metellus cimber, and trebonius]

cassius. i think we are too bold upon your rest.
good morrow, brutus. do we trouble you?

brutus. i have been up this hour, awake all night.
know i these men that come along with you?

cassius. yes, every man of them; and no man here
but honours you; and every one doth wish
you had but that opinion of yourself
which every noble roman bears of you.

which statement best explains how brutus's tragic flaw reveals the theme that citizens are persuaded by charismatic leaders?
because brutus is power-hungry and charismatic, he leads other citizens to conspire to kill caesar.
because brutus is easily manipulated by others, he falls for cassius's flattery and joins the conspiracy.
because brutus is honorable and loyal to the republic, he agrees to keep caesar from the throne.
because brutus is easily persuaded by others, he sides with caesar in his quest to be king.

When lawrence saw the posters for the circus hanging on the bulletin board, as he swept up the trimmings at slim's barbershop, he knew he would be taking his little cousins. they loved animals, and he was looking forward to seeing the smiles on their faces as the circus performers amazed them with their stunts. but sweeping up hair clippings didn't pay a whole lot. lawrence spent 45 dollars just getting tickets. but it was worth it to see his cousins' faces. the day finally came and everyone was excited as they walked into that big circus tent. but lawrence soon realized that he and his cousins would be thirsty and hungry. as they sat in their seats, the drink vendor walked by selling beverages. desperately thirsty, lawrence asked him how much a lemonade would cost, and the drink vendor said, "eleven dollars each." lawrence replied, "oh, that's it? just eleven dollars? what a great deal for one cup of lemonade. that's totally worth it." the drink vendor walked away. which type of irony is used?

Me which theme is developed by the changing relationship between the narrator and his daughter in this excerpt ? as she grew older, she spent more of her time with girls. so much time indeed did she spend with them that she came no more, as she used to do, to her father’s room. i was scarcely on speaking terms with her. when mini and her father stop communicating, it develops the theme that children should not speak unless spoken to. as mini becomes more independent, it develops the theme that parents must learn to let go as their children grow up. as mini spends more time with friends, it develops the theme that young people are more influenced by peers than by parents. when mini and her father see each other far less often, it develops the theme that absence makes the heart grow fonder.
