Both tell the story of a specific number of children being sent to a contest each year, with the focus of one being left standing. In the myth, am angry king forced a city under seige to send a specific number of children to a spectacular maze, which provided with many challenges and pitted them against the Minotaur, a beast with a human body and the head of a bull. However, a hero named Theseus changed all of this when he finally defeated the Minotaur, forcing the king to end his challenge. In the book “The hunger games”, there are many different sectors, and 2 children from each sector are to be sent to an arena to be pitted against one another. The main character, katniss, changes this when she ends the game without killing the other last competitor.
