Mustafa laughed as his family car headed into cairo's heavy traffic. "born and raised in egypt and i've never even seen the pyramids! " he said. how could that be? he was already thirteen. thirteen years in egypt and he'd never seen the most famous landmarks in the country. the whole world knew about the pyramids! people traveled across the globe to see them. and he had never set eyes on them. his mother said, "that's not so odd, musta. many people don't go to see the famous landmarks that are close to their homes. do you think all new yorkers hang out at the statue of liberty?
