To infer is to draw a conclusion from our reasoning and information we already have. As a preventive measure, we should always verify the meaning of a word or phrase. Their meaning can vary depending on the context, and for that reason it is better to check the use of the word in its aproppiate context and look it up in a dictionary to clear up its meaning.
