When talking about negative self-defining memories, the older adults are quite different from the younger adults because they older adults are more matured and have a lot of experience when compared to the younger ones.

For example, someone whom is older let's say about 90 years will have possibly had numerous experiences when compared to someone whom is like 40 years.

Therefore, the older adults can relate better to negative self defining moments than the younger adult since the person has more experience and has lived long enough to know certain things that the younger one may not know.
