Garrison published the first edition of the anti-slavery newspaper “The Liberator” in 1831 and he not only attacked slave-holders but also the gradualists; he focused on the emancipation of slaves in the country. Garrison’s publications reached thousands of individuals worldwide and most of the readers were African Americans. The last issue was published after the end of the Civil War in 1865.
