To understand in a drama, the reader must weigh a character’s words against other information in the text.

The answer is characterization. It is the representation of persons in narrative and dramatic works of art. Characters in action is what makes plot. This is also related to character motivation. By doing motivation, it creates a more powerful story.

imparadis't in one anothers arms  

the happier eden, shall enjoy their fill
