2ways in which sports can impede nation building

Sports itself is one of the good way to avoid using drugs, committing crimes, etc., in other words, making yourself productive without putting yourself in danger However, here are two ways in which sports can impede (slow) nation building. (1) If people are too focused in sports, then their attention and concern will not really how they can help the nation. Sometimes, if they are really too attached, they will not care about the current news. (2) Since they're too attached in playing that sports, it will be hard for them to look for time especially in doing advocacy works on health, youth empowerment, cultural preservation, hunger, etc.
