Dawn enters with little feet like a gilded pavlova, and i am near my desire. nor has life in it aught better than this hour of clear coolness, the hour of waking together. the imagery in these lines suggest that daylight comes slowly and delicately into the room. the sounds of morning are akin to running children. daylight is so bright and golden that it is blinding. the sounds of morning disrupt a person’s sleep.
