Write a full paragraph summary of gary paulsen's "hatchet" (site if needed )

Gary Paulsen's "Hatchet" is a novel that focuses on a thirteen year-old adolescent named Brian Robeson from NYC whose parents recently divorced. His father was in Canada which explains why he went to travel there to visit him. During the flight, the pilot has a heart attack which is when Brian takes control and crashes the plane into a lake. In the middle of nowhere, he breaks the fuselage with the hatchet his mother gave him before he left, allowing him to reflect how everything happens for a reason and how grateful he should be in life. For nearly fifty days, Brian was hungry and had the little food he would cook from the wilderness. He never gave up hope and even though he believed that he would never be rescued from his location, he started to adapt to this new life of his. Fortunately, the end put a grin on his face when he was saved right before winter arrived.
