A watershed near Van Horn, Texas, has an area of 5500 acres. Land cover throughout the watershed is fair condition desert shrub dominated by saltbrush and greasewood. Hydrologic soil groups in the watershed are approximately 60% C and 40% D. Topography in the watershed includes high hills along the upper watershed boundary draining into wide, flat floodplains. Because of this changing topography, water flowing from the most hydraulically remote point of the watershed to the outlet passes through two distinct sections. The first section has a length of 1200 ft with an average slope of 4%. The second section has a length of 3200 ft and an average slope of 0.8%. Required:
Using the SCS Method, estimate the peak runoff rate, q, for a 25-year storm. You may assume no ponding occurs in the watershed.

An open feedwater heater operates at steady state with liquid entering at inlet 1 with t? = 40°c and pl = 1 .2 mpa. water vapor att2-200°c and p2 = 1.2 mpa enters at inlet 2. saturated liquid water exits with a pressure of pa 1.2 mpa. neglect heat transfer with the surroundings and all kinetic and potential energy effects, determine the mass flow rate of steam at inlet 2 if the mass flow rate of liquid water at inlet 1 is given as 2 kg/s.
