A four-legged, pre-timed signalized intersection has four approaches: northbound (NB), southbound (SB), eastbound (EB), and westbound (WB). The intersection has an 80-second signal cycle. Each approach has a constant saturation flow rate of 2400 veh/h. The NB, SB, EB, and WB approaches have effective green times (in seconds) of 25, 22, 23, and 21, respectively. The total flow rates for NB, SB, EB, and WB approaches (in Veh/h) are 480, 470, 505, and 595, respectively. These traffic flows account for the peak 15-min period. At the start of the analysis period, there were no initial queues in the SB, and WB approaches. However, in the NB and EB approaches, there were initial queues at the start of the analysis period, and the average delay per vehicle due to these initial queues in each NB and EB approach was 4 seconds. It is known that the upstream signal does not have any impact on the randomness of the arrival pattern at this intersection. Determine the level of service (LOS) for the NB, and EB approaches.

Aloaded platform of total mass 500 kg is supported by a dashpot and by a set of springs of effective stiffness 72 kn/m. it is observed that when the platform is depressed through a distance x = 12.5 cm below its equilibrium position and then released without any initial velocity; it reaches its equilibrium position in the shortest possible time without overshoot. find the position and velocity of the loaded platform 0.10 sec. after its release. if a further load of 400 kg is added to the platform, find, i) the frequency of damped vibrations, and i) the amplitude of vibration after 2 complete oscillations, given that the initial amplitude is 15 cm.
