Project: Researching Model Uses in Remote or Dangerous Locations Assignment Directions
As you have read, engineers use models to help determine design and process changes in locations that cannot be directly observed. Research some unique uses of models that mining, aerospace, mechanical, and nuclear engineers are currently using. Choose one scenario, and describe in detail why the model is used and what information it provides that otherwise could not be obtained. Additionally, based on the information provided in the lesson, classify the model's purpose as descriptive, predictive, and/or prescriptive, and explain your reasoning for the classification.

Assignment Guidelines
Your report should contain at least 500 words.

Provide a brief description of the reason why a model must be used instead of direct observation.
Describe in detail the model and the information that it provides to the engineer.
Include visual representations of the model through drawings, illustrations, or images.
Submission Requirements
Use standard English and write full phrases or sentences. Do not use texting abbreviations or other shortcuts.
Make the information easy to understand.
