1 For the 8 m long simply-supported beam shown below, create influence lines for both reaction forces (Ay and Cy); for the shear at Point B (VB), and for the moment at Point B (MB). Point B is located x = 5 m to the right of Pin A. Also determine the maximum positive shear at Point B and the maximum moment at Point B due to a two-axle vehicle traveling across the 8 m beam. The axles are separated by a distance of 2.5 m, and the wheel loads (point loads on the beam) are 18 kN and 72 kN. The vehicle may travel either direction across the beam (i. E.- the 18 kN load could be to the left of the 72 kN load, or the 18 kN load could be to the right of the 72 kN load).
