3) A Cessna 172 is flying in a straight-and-level flight condition at an altitude of 1.21 km with a speed of 107 kph when suddenly a piece of equipment falls out of the aircraft. Before the equipment falls, the aircraft has a coefficient of lift of 1.18 (including the equipment). The piece of equipment that fell had a mass of 208 kg, the wing area of the aircraft is 16.2 m2, and the mean aerodynamic chord is 1.14 m. The viscosity of air at 1.21 km altitude is 1.69 x 10-5 Ns/m2. Find the coefficient of lift, coefficient of drag, and Reynold’s number after aircraft returns to a straight-and-level flight condition at the same altitude and the same speed as before. The backwards force on the aircraft at this condition is 241 N.
