Consider an air compressor used in gas turbine engine. The compressor is being tested in laboratory facility. Air enters the compressor at the ambientpressure (1 bar) and temperature at a density of 1.2 kg/m3, with an average velocity of 1m/sthroughthe inlet area of 0.8m2. Air leaves the compressor at a pressure of 6 bar(absolute),with a density of 3.6kg/m3, through an exit area of 0.2m2. Calculate:a)the averageair velocity at the exit, and b)the magnitude and direction of the force required to keep the compressor fixed in its position.

Areheat rankine cycle operates with water as the working fluid. steam enters the first turbine at 8 mpa and 450°c and exits at 0.8 mpa. it is then reheated to 400°c before entering the second turbine, where it exits at 10 kpa. if the amount of work into the pump is 8.04 kj/kg and the net work per cycle produced is 1410.25 kj/kg, determine the thermal efficiency of the cycle.
