The exit velocity of the combustion products is 6000 ft/s relative to the plane at a local gage pressure of 4 psi. The plane is at 40,000 ft where the air density is 5.94x10⁴ slugs/ft³. Mass flow rates of the fluids in and out of the engines are 5.23 slugs/s and 5.36 slugs/s respectively.
