Water ( \rho = 62.4 lbm/ft3, \mu = 0.88x10-3 lbm/ft-s) flows from a large pressurized tank to a higher tank open to the atmosphere. the elevation difference between surface levels is 3 ft. the tanks are connected by 20 ft of 3½" sch 40 pvc pipe, a sudden contraction, a total of 40 ft of 2" sch 120 pvc pipe, a half open gate valve, and then two standard radius elbows (r = 9"). find the pressure, p1, that generates a volumetric flow rate of 8.5 cfm between the tanks. Water vapor initially at 10 bar and 400 °c is contained within a piston-cylinder assembly. the water lost heat to the surrounding according to isochoric (iso-volumetric) process until its temperature is 150 °c. the water is then condensed isothermally to saturated liquid. for the water as a system, calculate the work in kj/kg
