Your friend Harvey says he won’t ever send any sensitive information, like his birthday, credit card number, social security number, or home address, through email because someone else besides the person he sends it to can always read it—that is, the mail server. Is Harvey correct? Should he be worried about this? Does it matter whether his email service uses POP or IMAP?
