                              CH₃COOH       ↔    CH3COO⁻ + H⁺

According to Le Chatelier's Principle," When a system (reaction) at equilibrium is subjected to any stress (like change in Concentration, Pressure, Temperature e.t.c) the system (reaction) tends to adjust itself in such a way so as to minimize the effect of that change".

Hence, in above reaction when Sodium Acetate (source of CH₃COO⁻) is added the equilibrium will shift in left side and will decrease the concentration of CH₃COO⁻ions.
