Fresh water gets more dense as it cools, but its
density starts to drop when it reaches 4ºC. Why do you think that water gets less
dense as it gets cooler than 4ºC? What possible explanation could there be for
this at the molecular and intermolecular level? Use kinetic molecular theory and
intermolecular forces in your answer.
