Is all the biomass consumed by a primary consumer, such as a brine shrimp, transferred to the secondary consumer, such as a gull, when the brine shrimp is eaten? For instance, if a brine shrimp eats 10 g of algae in its life before the gull eats it, does the gull get 10 g of biomass when it eats the brine shrimp? Why or why not?โ
