20. Alan wants to know whether an electric field surrounds his television. He places a ball with a negative charge 10 cm away from
the screen. The ball moves 1 cm away from the screen. Alan concludes that his television has no electric field because the ball was not
attracted to it.
Write a paragraph explaining whether you agree with Alan's conclusion. Your paragraph should answer the following questions:
• Can Alan's experimental design provide him the answer to his question? Why or why not?
• Do you agree with Alan? Why or why not?
• What evidence could Alan use to show the effect of an electric field on charged objects?
