These are the form of matter that have characteristic properties and having fixed chemical composition. The atoms of different elements are combine to gather through the chemical bond.

For example:

Consider the compound water. It has hydrogen and oxygen. Atoms are bonded together through chemical bond and having fixed proportion. So we can say that their interaction is chemical interaction.

While in mixture different matter combined through the physical interaction.

Atoms of different elements are not chemically bonded together.

For example:

Mixture of sand and water.
