scientist use data from outside or where every they are at and look/observing , test/experiments. also the data obtained from modeling and research helps the scientist to predict and understand the ecosystem, and the importance of the ecosystem.

in theory, limestone is composed principally of the compound calcium carbonate - caco3, but in reality this compound is deposited in conditions involving a number of other compounds as impurities so it ends up being a mixture of many compounds.
