Will water freeze at 5 degrees Celsius? Will it freeze at -5 degrees Celsius? Delta S for the freezing of water is -22.1 J/K and the surroundings must absorb 6000J of heat for water to freeze.
I know the equation we use to solve for both temperatures is deltaS(univ)=deltaS(sys) + q(surr)/T.
I'm not sure what the universal delta S would be. Would the delta S for the system be the -22.1 J/K or will I have to convert? Also, is the q(surroundings) the 6000J or something else?
Does anyone have example problems to help me solve this, or general steps to take with these types of problems? I checked other problems in the textbook and the others are not like this one! Thank you in advance.

Using a value of ksp = 1.8 x 10-2 for the reaction pbcl2 pb+2(aq) + 2cl -(aq). if the value of ksp was determined to be only 1.2 x 10-2: too much solid has dissolved. additional precipitate is forming. the solution is unsaturated. the ions are now combining to reduce their concentrations.
