An electric circuit refers to a continuous and an interrupted pathway along which electric current can flow. In a series circuit all components must function for the circuit to be complete and if any component stops functioning, the circuit stops functioning. In a parallel circuits, the components are connected in such a way that all the bulbs have their own circuit. The current that flows through every circuit is dependent on the components in that circuit and so also the voltage. The result is that if any bulb burns out, all the other bulbs will continue to function. We therefore conclude that the setup path of bulbs in the series circuit is independent and complete
