Experimental procedure
note: to save time you should start the ion exchange process and as it proceeds perform your
- other titrations. place a 10 ml aliquot of your sample into the column, and immediately begin
collecting the effluent into a titration flask. once the aliquot of sample has reached the top of the
ion exchange resin, add 25 ml of distilled water and collect the effluent until the distilled water
is at the top of the ion exchange resin. you will use at least three aliquots each one individually
titrated
without passing aliquots through the ion exchange column: titrate three 10 ml aliquots
using standardized naoh and using phenolphthalein indicator. h+
after passing aliquots through the ion exchange column: titrate three 10 ml aliquots
using standardized naoh and using phenolphthalein indicator. maematiitti coll

3- after addition of enough naoh to neutralize the acid, 50 ml of ammonia buffer and three
drops of calmagite indicator and titrate with standàrdized edta.
