Asolution may contain ag. pb, and hg, ions. upon the addition of 6 m hcl, a white precipitate forms. the precipitate partially dissolves when heated in a hot water bath. the supernatant and the precipitate are separated into two test tubes. the decanted liquid yields a bright yellow precipitate when drops of acidified k. cr, are added. the remaining white precipitate turns greyish when 6 mnh, is added to it. which ions are present, absent, or still in question?
