When the products of a reaction have more energy than the reactants:
the reaction is exothermic.
the reaction is endothermic.
the reactants gave up energy.
the δh is positive.

When the products of a reaction have more energy than the reactants, the reaction is endothermic.  Since the products have more energy than the reactants, we know that the reactants had to get energy from the surroundings which means the ΔH is positive meaning the reaction is endothermic.
