Does change the amount of one substance affect the mixture’s identity

I remember doing a project in something like this but it doesn't change it depends on what you put in it for example if it is powder then it might turn the water a little white and if it was salt you will see particals but after a hour or so it will dissolve but most of the time it doesn't change
