Describe a group of family on the periodic table

Metals are all in the center of the periodic table and are all made up of metals

Groups/families are the vertical columns, and each group has similar properties. For example group 18 is the noble gases, which are all unreactive.

It is a mixture. simply put, a compound must be pure, that is, of only one chemical structure and composition. a mixture is made of different chemical substances (i.e. elements, molecules, compounds) that are not chemically bonded to each other, but instead physically grouped together, as in the case of gasoline (a homogeneous solution).
