Ngân hàng phát hành một thư tín dụng dự phòng tuân thủ UCP600 để đảm bảo cho giao dịch thanh toán theo hình thức "open account" (Ghi sổ). Trong thư tín dụng dự phòng cũng quy định không được xuất trình chứng từ cho đến khi có sự vi phạm nghĩa vụ thanh toán của người mua Ngân hàng phát hành gửi thông báo về việc từ chối thanh toán với nội dung như sau: "Chúng tôi từ chối thanh toán vì có bất hợp lệ trên Vận đơn: Bản sao vận đơn đã được xuất trình chậm hơn 21 ngày kể từ ngày giao hàng, điều này trái với quy định về việc xuất trình chứng từ quy định trong UCP 600 điều 14 (c)".
