YOOO I NEED HELPPP I'LL GIVE YOU 30 POINTS As you learned in Unit 3, when it comes to finding and obtaining a career, there are a variety of skills that employers look for. But, what skills are really the most important? And what specific steps do you need to take in order to give yourself the best chance of being hired for the position you want?

Depending on who you talk to (or what you read), you will likely get different answers to these questions. Of course, that can be confusing which is why, for this activity, you will be examining different perspectives on essential workplace skills and the steps you need to take to obtain the job you want. By comparing and contrasting differing perspectives, you will also become better able to identify whether conflicting perspectives are based on fact or interpretation.

Part I
For this part of the activity, you will be looking at two different author’s perspectives on workplace skills and creating a written response that analyzes, compares, and contrasts these viewpoints.

Browse through the text choices and select two to use for this activity.

Most Important Business Skills for Workplace Success
The Top Skills for the Modern Workplace
10 Workplace Skills That Will Help Our Learners Succeed Beyond School
Communication Skills for Workplace Success
Specifically, in your response you should:

Compare and contrast the two authors’ differing opinions regarding the steps needed to obtain your desired job and/or the most important workplace skills for success.
Identify where the two articles/texts provide conflicting views or information and analyze whether you believe the conflicting information is based on fact or interpretation.
Cite any inferences that you draw from either/both texts on workplace skills necessary for success.
Be sure to cite any textual evidence that supports your claims, inferences, or thoughts on these two texts.
Part 2
For the second part of this activity, write a brief response to the following situation:

You sit down to complete the above activity for Unit 3 when you realize your internet is down. You cannot access any of the required texts that you need to complete the activity and unfortunately, it is due tomorrow morning! You find yourself faced with a difficult decision—what do you do?

You could simply throw up your hands and do nothing, which will likely result in you receiving a zero for this assignment. But that doesn’t seem like the best choice. Instead, please come up with a healthier alternative choice that you could make.

Briefly describe your alternative choice and why it is a healthier and wiser option than simply doing nothing. Also, discuss other possible workplace situations where you may be required to choose between healthy and unhealthy alternatives when met with difficult decisions.
