Choose a news story told using one of the media types we have discussed—print, television, or online—and rework it to fit a different type of media. For example: You might choose a podcast that covers a news story and transform that story that is told into a newspaper or magazine article—or you might do the reverse! Your task here is to keep the basics of the story intact, but to adapt it to the standards of the new type of media. If you are moving from a 30-minute podcast to a 250-word newspaper article, you’re obviously going to need to decide what is most important and how to tell the story effectively. Submit the original story and your revised version, which should be no longer than 300 words or two minutes (if it’s a recording, please also consult with your instructor about the recording type you should use). Write a brief reflection (100 words) about what you think the biggest challenge was for you as you tried to adapt the same story to a different type of medium.
