Riverwoods Mental Health Company signed a contract with MCP, Inc, a real estate company, to buy a large lot owned by MCP in order to build a new office building for Riverwoods. The office building would have space for 400 employees with underground parking for guests to the facility. Because of the size of the project, Riverwoods had to get permission from the City Council and details about the project were published in the local newspaper. Annie Smithson owned a small café next door to the lot purchased by Riverwoods for the building. When she heard of the new building, and the number of employees who may be interested in having lunch at her café, she invested several thousand dollars in paint, decorations, and new furniture. After several months, Riverwoods announced that the deal with MCP was not going to happen and that Riverwoods had located a lot in another part of town for the building. The lot next to the café remained empty. Annie sued Riverwoods and MCP for the lost income as well as the expenses for remodeling her café. What are Annie's rights?
