Revisit the collection of videos of news coverage of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks on the United States. Select at least five or six of the videos to view, and write down your thoughts and responses to at least three different incidents you learn about. Think about how you might have reacted if you were involved in the scenes you are watching. What would your reaction be?

Thoughts and Responses

1. A beautifully erected building stayed strong and from no where, a plane crashed right into it. I could not get my head around it at first as I hoped it was  an accident. People around immediately took to their heels while in a state of utmost confusion. A Terror attack came to mind and I though, Oh God! What has just happened? I was super angry already and wanted to know why that happened? I could hear the scampering of emergency service units all rushing to the site. I could hear heartbroken Americans crying, the injured running, and dying screaming. I literally shed a tear while watching these terrific scenes!  

2. The part that touched me the most was the where the video second plane hit the building, I had barely even digested the first hit when the second occurred. I was watching and from no where, I heard a lady scream out Jesus! Something in me died at that instant. Those were probably her final words out of this earth. People went to work and never came back because some group of terrorists wanted to make a point? Getting my head around it is just almost impossible. Why? Why? That is what keeps playing in mind, what was the point to prove? They claim it was all religious and I ask, how does killing innocents display a show of strength and religion? This has got to be the worst day ever for the American People!

3. I watched another clip and saw wounded victims running for their lives without knowing what was to follow. I felt and wished I had super powers to fly in there and take the injured out but I could not. Several security services turned up along-side health emergency units, I could see them trying to get people to safety. A good number of people had died I said within myself. Right when I was having those thoughts, the World Trade Center fell like it was nothing! I had never felt angrier watching anything like this. Mums, Dads, Uncles, Aunties, Grandparents, Friends, Siblings, Country Men, International Friendlies have just died at an instant!

How I would have reacted

I would have probably died in a bid to save other people. KIds were crying out loud! I basically would have dived in with the tons of rescue team dispatched. I have never felt strongly about wanting to help out as I did watching the clip.

I would be mad and devastated as well! The shock and fear would not have been a thing to measure. I would have worked in helping transport the affected to the hospital, helped with safe guarding the kids, brought food and water supplies owned.

Personal Reaction

My reaction would have been twisted, provoking, sad, spiteful for the hate shown while helping my country men to the best of my ability.
