I think the commodity is labor. Labor is one of the four primary factors of production. It is any human work which is performed with the help of mind or physique with an objective of earning income. The value of the workforce depends on the worker's education, skills, and motivation, and may also depend on productivity. the reward for labor is  wages or salaries.
