skin is an elastic covering consisting of three layers the epidermis, the dermis and subcutis.   depending on the site it is situated in body it varies in thickness. when the skin is pinched the blood is forced out of the capillaries and skin appears whitish or blanched as the blood flow to this area is prevented. the blanching as a result of pinch is a localised reaction and as the epidermis is a network of elastic and tough collagen fibres so on stretching it or pinching it remains still connected.
