How are pioneer species different from climax communities?

Pioneer species are the first of their kind in a new (or newly formed) area. Climax communities are the result of many years of evolution and will likely not have another species intrude on their progress.

From our previous experiment, we examined how many drops a penny can hold - and place drops of salt water on the penny after recording 5 trials each, take the average of each solution.
