Asnapdragon is a type of flowering plant. in snapdragons, the allele for red flowers (r) is incompletely dominant over the allele for white flowers (r). part a: predict the phenotype that will be expressed by a snapdragon that is heterozygous for flower color (rr). part b: suppose two snapdragons that are heterozygous for flower color (rr) are crossed. predict the percentage of each possible phenotype that will result from this cross. in your answer, be sure to explain the reasoning behind your prediction. part c: a gardener wants to produce a generation of snapdragons that displays only the phenotype associated with the heterozygous genotype (rr). determine the genotypes and phenotypes of the snapdragons the gardener should cross to accomplish this goal. in your answer, be sure to explain the reasoning behind your decision. type your responses to parts a, b, and c in the box below.

1)The phenotype would be pink.
When the plant is red their genotype is RR(homozigotic dominant). Why? they need to have both alleles of 'red' to be that color.
If this case, the plant is heterozygotic, their genotype is Rr. The big R represents the red allele, and the small r represents the white allele. In the case of this plant, their phenotype is pink, due to incomplete dominance.
(In incomplete dominance the result is a mix of white and red.)

 B) A heterozygotic cross between snapdragons would be: Rr x Rr
1/4 = 25% RR its homozygotic and has two alleles coding for red. Phenotype is red.
2/4 = 50% Rr  it's heterozygotic so the phenotype is pink
1/4 = 25% rr it's homozygotic and has two alleles coding for white. phenotype is white.

3) The answer is:
plant 1: RR -red
plant 2: rr-white
Like this, 100%  of the offspring(F1 generation) are pink
Being a red plant or white plant,in this case, means being purebred. On the other hand, pink is the result of a blend between the phenotypes of its parents. For that to happen, one plant needs to be red(the genotype is always RR) and the other needs to be white (rr).

The final result will always be Rr---> PINK
