Chlorofluorocarbons can cause or contributed of depletion of ozone layer.  Ozone in the stratosphere protects our planet from UVB radiation. The ozone hole over Antarctica is thought to be mostly caused by CFCs.  The ozone layer that protects our planet is found in Stratosphere.
