The answer is true, geysers are formed when ground water is heated by nearby magma. As magma rises to the earths surface, it heats ground water to temperatures near boiling. As the temperature of the water gets to the boiling point a column of steam and water is propelled into the air. Old Faithful is an example of a geyser found in Yellowstone National Park.
