Which plant and animal species are characteristics of the sahara desert in africa

The Sahara desert is the largest desert in the world. The climate of the Sahara desert determines the type of plant and animal species that are found there.
The Sahara vegetation is sparse with scattered concentration of grasses, trees and shrubs. The plants have many adaptation strategies which they employ in order to survive in the desert. Examples of plants find in the Sahara desert are Olive, cypress and date palm. 
Different types of animal species are found in the Sahara desert and these animal too have adaptations which help them to survive in the desert. Examples of animals found in the desert are: desert hedgehog, cape hare, gazelle, deer, etc.
