Oceanographers by profession are those that study all the elements that are related to the ocean. They mostly study the following things-

1) They study the ocean waves, including the factors that generated a wave of different wavelengths and amplitudes, an how the wave pattern changes from the sea surface to the bottom.

2) They study the temperature and the density difference from the low latitude region to a region of higher latitudes and what are the factors that re responsible for these changing temperatures and salinity conditions.

3) They also study the composition of the ocean water and the effects of tide on the waves.
