Cane toads, a species of toad native to South and Central America, were introduced in Australia to feed on beetles that destroy crops. However, the cane toads rapidly spread across Australia. They are poisonous and kill native beetle predators such as birds and lizards. The toads and their tadpoles resemble some of the native frog species, except the tadpoles of the cane toad are attracted to the poison that is secreted by the adult toads. How can the cane toad population likely be controlled?

A. Cover all bodies of water where the cane toads breed in toad poison.

B. Lure cane toad tadpoles into large traps using the cane toad poison.

C. Transport any cane toad found back to South and Central America.

D. Introduce a species from South and Central America that feeds on the cane toads.
