(b) Differentiate between complete and incomplete metamorphosis. Explain reproduction in snail .​

The main difference between complete metamorphosis and incomplete metamorphosis is that complete metamorphosis consists of a very active, ravenously eating larva and an inactive pupa whereas incomplete metamorphosis consists of a nymph, which resembles a miniature adult.

Snails reproduce with egg cells and sperm cells, like so many other animals, and most snails are either male or female. But some snails have both eggs and sperm in their bodies, so sometimes the sperm in the snail fertilize the eggs in the same snail. They have both female and male reproductive cells (they are hermaphrodite). They don't actually need to mate with another snail in order to reproduce, self fertilization is possible. After mating they lay around 80 white eggs in a damp, underground nest.
