Ceruminous glands are modified sweat glands located subcutaneously in the cartilaginous two-thirds of the external auditory canal. Ceruminous glands produce together with sebaceous glands the cerumen (i.e. earwax), which protects the ear canal against physical damage and/or microbial infections.
