Describe how a scientific law is like a societal law

Scientific laws are derived from experiments and observation, where conclusions/laws are drawn from continued observation; if something continues to repeat and is measurable, then it becomes scientific law until proven otherwise to be untrue. Societal laws are agreements made between people in society's as to what is or is not acceptable behaviour or conduct, unlike scientific laws, societal laws can be broken, and then it is deemed a "crime", and that person who commits that crime can then be prosecuted. Societal laws can differ between cultures and societies based on the varied nature of public opinion. They are similar in the fact that we as people agree to hold them as laws, without that agreement then they are relatively defunct; scientific laws, however, exist without humans.
