How do ice ages affect the surface of the earth?

During an ice age, huge glaciers cover large portions of Earth's surface. These glaciers can affect the surface of the earth through erosion and deposition. Also, during ice ages, so much of Earth's water is bound up in glaciers that sea levels fall.

Ice age is the name given to the period of cooling of the Earth, where dense layers of ice have covered small or large portions of emer- ged land and freeze the oceans in certain regions.

The ice age affected the earth's surface in the following ways:

Ice formation: Ice covered large and small regions. In the rivers and oceans, the ice moved slowly over the continental regions high latitudes, towards the banks of the bodies of water, destroying natural habitats in place, and leveling some of the reliefs. Lower sea level: the storage of ice on the continents caused a drop in sea level (about 120 m during the last ice age) and led to the appearance of some continental shelves; Erosion: Soil erosion caused by ice has been caused. Erosion occurred when ice blocks or glaciers melted to the point where they could slide into the ground. The friction between the glacier and the ground formed a type of erosion that has a shape similar to the letter "V".
